With support from Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, the Créathon was an innovative group day dedicated to bringing out social projects with social or environmental utility, helping people develop their own projects, and contributing to existing projects. Leaders guided participants throughout the day, while coaches and experts worked with them to help them move forward with their team.

Créathon is part of the Social Cup, the French Cup for young social entrepreneurs, an event created by KissKissBankBank, Makesense, and La Banque Postale, in partnership with the GRDF foundation. The event is making its way around France!

The end of a Créathon month with Montpellier

A day of collective intelligence with 30 participants at the IONIS 361 Epitech incubator facility with a dream team!

  • 2 leaders
  • 4 mentors
  • 3 Unis-Cité volunteers

The day was spent thinking in concrete terms about how to make our society more sustainable, inclusive, happy, and more oriented towards solidarity.

Discussions included:
  • Proposing a solution for organizing and assisting helpers
  • Thinking about animal mistreatment in zoos
  • Proposing an alternative to leather using recycled materials
  • Working to combat the social isolation of young people due to Covid... and many other wonderful ideas.

“This event enabled me to see different and interesting projects presented as pitches. I integrated a project related to the mistreatment of animals, a very interesting topic that is rich with knowledge,” exclaims Jade Stephany, an apprentice at Visionari.

Local partners: Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, IONIS 361, Pépite-LR, Alter’Incub Occitanie Méditerranée, the association Coraline, IAE Montpellier, La Cité Entrepreneur by WHY 3C, and Unis-Cité.

What’s next?

The Social Cup competition was open until December 26 for young project leaders with social projects.

Who is it for? Registration was open to all, with a few conditions:
  • At least one of the project leaders in the team must be between 18 and 30 years old.
  • The project must represent positive impact on society or the environment.

Regardless of the project’s maturity, the competition is intended to be a springboard: the state of the project is not judged, but rather the project’s level of innovation, or implementation of a viable business model.

Awards:  One finalist per territory will be designated in early February 2022. The twelve finalists will be assisted by Makesense for four weeks online and will face off for the final battle on March 10. Winners will receive awards worth a total value of 50,000 euros.
