By 2020, Montpellier Métropole will also make workspace available for the ICC ecosystem. This includes the 3D animation company In Efecto.
The offering to help businesses get started in the Creative City space is taking shape at Montpellier’s former EAI infantry school site. “This is the first time a community has sought to unite studios and schools at the same location, as Luc Besson did when he created Cité du Cinéma in Saint-Denis (north of Paris),” says Raul Carbo Perea, founder of In Efecto, a company specialized in 3D animation. The company will relocate to Montpellier’s Creative City (“Cité Creative”).
The company, which has been based just north of Montpellier in Saint Gély du Fesc for the past 13 years, established its reputation in the advertising world and is now expanding into bold fiction projects. The timing of In Efecto’s move to the Creative City corresponds to the release of an animated series for Disney Europe entitled “Vlad and Louise”, a co-production with Zodiak Kids. It’s the story of a young girl who wants to become a wrestler and heads off to Mexico to learn “Lucha Libre” (professional wrestling). The series comprises 26 episodes of 22 minutes.
“This site will enable all companies with a common work-sharing approach to be close to each other, which benefits the entire ecosystem.”
In winter 2018, the Illusion & Macadam cooperative will open a modular space at the Tropisme Halle facility. Renovation work began recently in the former mechanical hall. The 4,000 m² space was designed by architect Renata Aviani in cooperation with the artist Christophe Goutes and Montpellier designer Adrien Revel. The overall budget for the work is estimated at 1.2 M€ (pre-tax). Delegated by the City of Montpellier (which owns the site), Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole will also provide workspace for VSEs, SMEs, and large companies at the renovated former Infantry Museum starting in 2020.Find out more :- In Efecto
