How can you speed up your company’s growth or simply remain competitive while still preserving your peace of mind? The answer is to use services offered by an Employer Group. This little-known tool available in France gives companies access to the business skills they need to continue to grow, by sharing resources.

Most of the employees have secure jobs, with the vast majority having open-ended contracts with the Employer Group, which hires them and invoices members on a pro-rata basis according to time spent.

The advantages are even greater in these economically uncertain times.

“Thanks to Employer Groups, VSEs and SMEs benefit from people who are qualified and competent in the professions needed for growth but concerning positions for which hiring companies are not able to take on full-time staff, for a variety of reasons. This mechanism therefore helps companies get organized with both low HR requirements and stability,” summarizes Pierre-Olivier Navarro, director of the Occitanie Resource Center for Employer Groups (CRGE), whose headquarters will move from Narbonne to Montpellier in January 2022.

The association, which also has a branch in Toulouse, fully plans to create long-term jobs via Employer Groups in the Montpellier Métropole area, by providing interested companies as well as associations and local authorities with its expertise in assistance – notably for fast-growing sectors such as cultural and creative industries (CCIs), sports, and digital technologies for which studies have already begun.

CRGE Occitanie actions are supported by Montpellier Métropole, Occitanie Region, Hérault Department, and DREETS Occitanie.

The metropolitan territory also has several Employer Groups, notably for in-home assistance services, sports-leisure-recreation, and the environment. At this time, there are 132 Employer Groups in the Occitanie region, altogether representing 2,200 companies and associations and nearly 4,200 employees. And that’s just the start.

“The number of Employer Group employees in the region is rising by 10% per year,” confirms Pierre-Olivier Navarro.

The mechanism, which benefits from funding from the government and Occitanie Region, balances companies’ needs for agility with the effort to ensure employee job security. The result is sustainable employment combined with economic development that is efficient and socially equitable. Both are values that Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole holds dear.
