MMM’s Zero Waste strategy is notably based on efforts to develop the circular economy. To boost its impact, Montpellier Metropole joined forces with other public and private stakeholders on June 29 to launch the first Call for Expression of Interest concerning the circular economy in Occitanie: AMI EC’O.
“Implementing a Zero Waste policy means that we need to work with the area’s economic players to identify new solutions for reuse, such as setting up consignment systems and developing eco-design channels and recycling centers. That is why Montpellier Métropole is joining forces with all its public and private partners to launch this Call for Expression of Interest,” explains François Vasquez, Vice President of Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, in charge of Waste Collection, Sorting, Recovery, and Zero Waste Policy.
From June 29, 2022 to September 30, 2022, project leaders, associations, and companies are invited to submit their proposals via an online questionnaire on the
Cycl-op.org platform, where they can present their project and their needs in terms of support, funding, communication, and promotion, as well as their expectations for business networking and their search for real estate. Each request will be reviewed by an ad hoc committee to guide participants towards the most appropriate resources and organizations to help them pursue their entrepreneurial initiatives relating to the circular economy.
Following this Call for Expression of Interest, Montpellier Métropole will provide support for certain projects that fit within the framework of its policies, notably through networking with other players in the circular economy and through communication. Working with this Call for Expression of Interest will also give Montpellier Métropole an opportunity to identify the solutions being proposed within its territory.
