Two more winners on Graines de Boss! After Nauticspot took the honors in 2019, two other companies assisted by Montpellier BIC took their turn to earn their awards. Kinvent and SCOP3 are among the winners of the 18th and latest edition of the national competition, organized by Media Board Regie Graines de Boss in partnership with the TV show Capital on M6. A total of 1,752 companies applied for the award. Among them, 84 were chosen as finalists and 24 were awarded a prize.

Graines de Boss is an annual competition that awards innovative companies that were founded less than five years ago and whose business model and concept have been demonstrated by their ability to grow their customer portfolio and business. This is precisely the case for the two new prize-winners from Montpellier.

Specializing in functional rehabilitation, Kinvent designs connected devices that enable physical therapists and trainers to effectively evaluate the progress of their patients or athletes under their care. The company’s solutions have been so successful that five years after its creation, it already has a staff of 65 people, with plans to recruit 15 more by the end of 2022.

The Graines de Boss jury noted Kinvent’s convincing character, a serious asset in the eyes of customers and prospects, as well as its ability to respond quickly to market expectations. Equally important is its capacity to innovate, as demonstrated by its two latest products:  My Kinvent and Kinvent Connect.

“This award represents national recognition for us, which increases our exposure and will give us the opportunity to meet with large groups that would otherwise have been more difficult to approach,” says Athanase Kollias, the company’s CEO, who adds a new trophy to his achievements.

An I-Lab winner three years ago, Kinvent also won an award at the Rééduca Innov competition in 2019

SCOP3 is also busy collecting awards. Founded in 2021 by Sophie Scantamburlo-Contreras and Frédéric Salles, the company is developing an online platform where companies can sell equipment they no longer use or donate it to associations. Businesses can also purchase second-hand equipment. The company currently employs seven people and has more than 350 professional customers, 70% of which are companies and 30% are associations.

Thanks to SCOP3, more than 7,000 high-quality pieces of professional equipment, which otherwise would have been discarded, have found a new life, with 60% of them going to associations. That is one compelling factor that convinced the jury, but not the only one.

“While our proposal is indeed innovative, the Graines de Boss jury also appreciated our business model and the development strategy we have implemented,” adds Sophie Scantamburlo-Contreras, who is also busy rushing from one award ceremony to the next.

SCOP3 won three other awards in June: an award at Next Innov, a competition organized by Maddyness and Banque Populaire; the Occitanie “Women Entrepreneurs Be a Boss” award; and an award in the VivaTech Startup Challenge organized by France Télévisions and Radio France. Montpellier BIC startups are definitely showing a lot of talent!
