After a successful first edition, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole launches the 2nd Montpellier Cultural and Creative Industries (MICC) event.

During the week of April 13-18, a series of professional and general public events will highlight initiatives that combine creation and innovation driven by various players in the CCI (Cultural and Creative Industries) ecosystem. The event is a major occasion to promote interactions across different disciplines, while bringing together entrepreneurs, artists, intellectuals, and students, and favoring contact between the world of creation and those of technology and the digital industry.

Various sites in Montpellier, such as the Fabre museum , Salle Rabelais, and Tropisme Hall, will be used to host conferences, workshops, meetings, hackathons, pitches, and more. These events are mainly targeted towards professionals, but they are open to everyone (registration required, limited space available).

With about fifty events already on the agenda, MICC’s 2nd  edition promises to be full of encounters and discoveries!

CCIs in the Montpellier area

Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole has established Cultural and Creative Industries (CCI) as a priority direction for economic development and building both national and international notoriety.

CCI companies bring jobs to the Montpellier area, notably with major players such as Ubisoft and France Télévisions, which recently created one of its largest studios in Vendargues (just east of Montpellier) to film its popular daily series “Un si grand soleil”. 180 employees work every day at the 16,000 m² film set in Vendargues, as well as at many sites where the series is filmed around the Montpellier Métropole territory.
