New! “Numérique en Commun[S]” soon in Montpellier!

Information updated on 30/03/21

Entrepreneurs, researchers, associations,... are you wondering about the role of digital technology in your life? Let’s build a digital approach together that is inclusive, ethical and sustainable at the flagship event “Numérique en Commun[S]” on April 1.

Inédit : Numérique en CommunS bientôt à Montpellier !

For the first edition of the Numérique en Commun[S] (NEC) event, Montpellier offers us a unique occasion to build a community around digital issues for tomorrow’s society, focusing on inclusion, ethics, and citizenship.

Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, Montpellier CCAS, partners, and sponsors* are pleased to invite you to the online event taking place on April 1, broadcast from Montpellier’s Tropisme Hall. This major event will highlight the players and initiatives making commitments to ensure digital accessibility for all.

While digital technology is clearly a factor for innovation and new services, a lack of skills and equipment can actually create digital disparity within the population. Digital inclusion goes beyond simply having access rights; our entire society now depends on using digital technology. Numérique en Commun[S], or “common digital”, is also an opportunity to collectively drive solutions to meet digital inclusion challenges.

NEC offers participative workshops enabling local stakeholders to share ideas and work towards common possibilities regarding digital citizenship.

The event is organized by Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole and Montpellier CCAS in partnership and with the sponsorship of ANCT, the Hérault Departmental Council, and La Mêlée / RhinOcc. Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole has integrated digital considerations into its public policy commitments for over ten years. The Smart City project represents the territory’s global cross-sector digital innovation strategy, balancing social, environmental, and economic aspects.
