Overview of the “Rencontres Vigneronnes” winemaker event

Information updated on 21/01/22

Winemakers in the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole area invited the public to discover their best wines in local cellars and estates.

“Whereas the Montpellier area was severely impacted by frost last April, Montpellier Métropole stood strong alongside winemakers to provide much-needed support with other institutional partners such as Occitanie Region and Hérault Department,” says Michaël Delafosse, Mayor of Montpellier and President of Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole.

Support for players in the sector

About 80% of the winemakers in the Montpellier Métropole area operate with High Environmental Value certification, and nearly 40% produce organic wines, a practice that Montpellier Métropole now encourages through tax incentives. With their multi-centennial estates, winemakers are the artisans of quality in our territory.

Everything was designed to help people discover wine in a festive and friendly environment!

For this first edition of the “Rencontres Vigneronnes” winemaker event, we ran a major campaign with influencers who were given an opportunity to discover and highlight participating cellars and estates.

22 influencers went to meet stakeholders in the field, resulting in 377 posts on social networks reaching a target of about 370,000 potential readers.
