La Picorée, a startup assisted by Montpellier BIC and MedVallée, is launching its crowdfunding campaign on the WE DO GOOD platform from March 13 to May 13. Its goal is to reach 100,000 euros to continue its fight against undernutrition on a larger scale.

Our battle is against undernutrition!

La Picorée, an innovative young company in Montpellier, is targeting undernutrition, a disease that is still silent and little known.

Food products distributed in hospitals and pharmacies are effective but ultra-processed and provided in a  medical format. For La Picorée, the answer to the problem of undernutrition can only come from an efficient diet. Eating must also, and above all, remain enjoyable.

Today, there are 2 million under-nourished people in France, notably elderly people, cancer patients, and people in hospitals. Studies show that nearly 50% of the under-nourished people do not take their recommended food supplements because of the taste and texture.

La Picorée’s mission

La Picorée wants to make clinical nutrition a happier moment, with better taste and more natural products.

After 18 months of research and development, La Picorée launched a line of tasty snacks with high protein and calorie content on its website www.lapicoree.com. These products offer an appetizing solution for people at risk of undernutrition, or who may already be under-nourished.
 
La Picorée has taken all the right steps to validate its recipes on an industrial scale, set up a responsive logistics channel, successfully launch its products, and fund the company’s seed phase.

La Picorée’s goals

The innovative startup is now ready to move up to the next level and offer new lines of nutritional supplements, develop new distribution channels, and expand its staff size.

Its goal is to reach 100,000 euros to boost its growth and continue its fight against undernutrition on a larger scale.

The crowdfunding campaign consists of two phases:
  • Phase 1: mid-March to mid-April – project assessment and pre-investment
  • Phase 2: mid-April to mid-May – confirmation of investment
