For 5 full days, the International Festival of Extreme Sports brings together the best international riders for nearly 25 different skateboard, roller blade, BMX, mountain bike, and wakeboard competitions in both professional and amateur categories. This very popular event is all the more particular because it is free, and offers a unique competitive format open to juniors and amateurs, the champions of tomorrow. From May 13 to 17, join the fun along the banks of Montpellier's Lez River for a FISE event that is even more extreme than previous years.
Disciplines:
Wakeboard: Just like every year, wakeboard equipment will be installed in the Lez River, facing the Hôtel de Région. The world's best riders will be on-hand for an exceptional show.
Roller blade: for the fourth year in a row, junior, amateur, girl, and professional categories will face off on the slopestyle track. Participants will unfurl their figures on various modules installed for the occasion. A major innovation in the rollerblade world, slopestyle emerged at the FISE three years ago, and continues to progress every year.
BMX: You're all waiting impatiently for this one... the BMX park competition promises to be even more spectacular this year. All the big names in the discipline will be there, your guarantee of a hot, hot, hot show! Flat and street-style BMX are also on the program. Street competitions will take place in the skate park, with Flat being held in a dedicated space with support from XSories. The team will be present with its guest star, Mathias Dandois. And to top it all off, the infamous spine ramp will be set up in the Jacques Coeur basin, to welcome the Freegun Air Spine BMX competition. Skateboard: Top international skateboard riders will also be at the FISE, on a structure specially designed for the occasion, with a succession of modules intended to encourage technical prowess.
Mountain bike: Mountain biking is back this year with a track that just gets trickier every year, made of wooden bridges and earth mounds as a playground for the world's best riders. Dropping in from the Zuccarelli bridge gives that extra dose of adrenaline for an even more spectacular show during the Vallnord International Slopestyle Contest.
Slackline: Don't miss the incredible slackline competition, with leading world-class athletes.
Scooter: The scooter has now earned a permanent place at FISE World Montpellier. Top pro riders will be there to challenge each other on the renowned spine ramp. Autograph sessions will be held throughout the festival at the space dedicated to this highly fashionable sport.
