Tourism

Located between the Mediterranean Sea and the Cévennes mountains, and benefiting from rich historical heritage, Montpellier Métropole is a prime tourist destination.

Strong policy to support tourism as a major driver in the local economy

Montpellier has strong political will to make tourism one of the growth drivers in the local economy.

Local authorities have established a Metropolitan Tourism Office, bringing together professionals from the sector and several surrounding territories: Sète, Saint Guilhem le Désert, Le Grau du Roi, Pézenas, and more.

The metropolis benefits from world-class infrastructure, such as its Corum Conference Center/Opera house in downtown Montpellier, a Zénith auditorium, and the Arena complex - a modular 14,000-seat facility. A complete service offering was developed to provide personalized assistance to conference and event organizers.
