Oxeltis, a service provider specializing in medicinal chemistry and organic synthesis, bounded upwards in the Deloitte In Extenso Technology Fast 50 France listing by 559% from 2011 to 2014, and ranked 30th in 2015. The company received startup assistance from the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole Business and Innovation Centre (BIC).
This ranking rewards fast-growing technology companies based on their sales revenue over the past 4 years. Oxeltis was also nominated in the European Technology Fast 500 EMEA ranking, and expects its 2015 sales revenue to show a 50% increase. Simultaneously, Oxeltis mutualized its expertise in partnership with two other companies from the Montpellier Métropole area that were assisted by the Montpellier BIC: Genepep, specializing in peptide and protein chemistry, and BCI-Pharma, a biotechnology company specializing in pharmaceutical research on small molecules. Together, the three companies will produce and commercialize new multi-functional libraries for the pharmaceutical market. Founded in 2010 by former researchers at Idenix Pharmaceuticals, Oxeltis today is comprised of a team of 15 chemists and is based at the Biopôle Euromédecine science park. The company received assistance from Montpellier’s support organizations for young innovative companies, notably Montpellier BIC and Transferts LR. “Montpellier is an attractive city for hiring and getting young researchers started after their graduation or post-doc work. Also, by offering professional workspace for researchers, the buildings at Biopôle Euromédecine enable SMEs to consider setting up on site.”
