Successful takeoff for Air France HOP! shuttle

Information updated on 20/06/18
10 flights by HOP! shuttle every day! Air France boosts passenger numbers for its Paris-Orly line and contributes to Montpellier airport growth, with a 10.7% increase in passengers for 2016. Leveraging these strong results, the Montpellier airport platform is looking at a historical record in 2017 and wants to go even further.
A caravan in HOP! colors... Air France and Montpellier airport will travel the streets of a dozen different business districts in the Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole area from May 10 to 17, all the way to the nearby cities of Lunel and Clermont l’Hérault. The goal of this original operation is to promote the Paris-Orly Shuttle, already highly popular with business travelers. Launched in late October 2016, the Shuttle service’s takeoff has been a big success, with 15% more passengers from January to mid-March. At the end of March, Hélène Abraham, deputy general manager of Air France HOP!, pointed out: “This is the fastest growing of Air France’s HOP! lines, whose average growth is 2.5%.” Emmanuel Brehmer, president of the Montpellier Méditerranée Airport board of directors, adds: “We plan to consolidate and reinforce these results.” The latest figures seem to show that he’s correct, with growth exceeding 17% as of mid-April.
The Shuttle has what people really want, notably a flight every hour at peak times, attractive rates, and services that combine both comfort and speed. Emmanuel Brehmer points out: “The Shuttle path includes a line shortcut and access to the Salon by Promeo waiting area, the French lounge with the highest customer satisfaction rate, according to Air France.” Passengers also benefit from a newly introduced shoe scanner that speeds up the security check. Particular attention was paid to providing the best possible service, including a complete €700,000 renovation of the departure hall featuring four additional check-in counters.
The HOP! shuttle demonstrates the Montpellier Méditerranée Airport’s solid health, with four consecutive years of growth and a volume of 1.6 million passengers in 2016. Airport management feels that 2017 could be a record year, with 1.8 million passengers, and is continuing to prepare for the future. The airport’s supervisory board, which includes the president of Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, will begin examining an ambitious project in mid-June.
