#HealthTech: Health in our genes

Health, the beating heart of our metropolis

Internationally recognized for its medical school and research laboratories, the Montpellier area hosts numerous startups in the health field, evolving side-by-side with world leaders such as Sanofi, Bausch+Lomb, Bio-Rad, HORIBA Medical, and the Eurobiomed competitiveness cluster, one of the leading French and European clusters in the health sector.

This network also has its own local derivative, the Montpellier Health Capital project, which fosters close collaboration among training organizations and research, care, business, and public authority efforts on four key objectives: stimulating company growth, generating European-wide exposure for Montpellier, attracting foreign talent and investment, and working to build better lives for citizens by making Montpellier Métropole a territory for health.

As part of a research project, Montpellier and its partners propose to develop an observatory to monitor health needs in the metropolitan area, particularly for the elderly. This involves launching a citizen consultation phase. You may participate by clicking here.

Care Labs testimonial

“While French Tech offers national and international recognition, the vertical “Health Tech” program makes it easier for us to discuss with universities as well as public and private research centers. Whether our companies are involved in e-health, biotech, or medtech, we can all share good practices. We recently decided to organize thematic meetings related to fund raising to help new startups emerge.”
