The Montpellier Capital Risque venture capital event is now taking on an international dimension. For its 19th edition, the event is joining forces with B2B Rocks, the leading European gathering of rising stars in the online software and SaaS industries, with a community of no fewer than 6,000 members. Zoom, Eventbrite, Meta, as well as Deepki and Yousign are just some of the companies involved.

“Our inclusion in the B2B Rocks event will bring international attention to Montpellier’s entrepreneurial ecosystem,” says Isabelle Prévot, director of Montpellier BIC, the pioneering French incubator organizing Montpellier Capital Risque in partnership with Bpifrance.

Montpellier Capital Risque is thus climbing one step higher. Dedicated to funding startups with high growth potential, this event has demonstrated its ability to identify and bring together the moment’s most promising investment opportunities.

Many rising startups have successfully raised funds as a result of their participation in Montpellier Capital Risque. This includes companies such as Bulane, Kaliop, Magic Pallet, Matooma, Mon Chasseur Immo, SeqOne, and Teads, just to name a few. Among the most recent companies to raise funds are Kinvent (2.5 M€), Koovea (2.5 M€), and Almé (1 M€).

For each edition of the event, Montpellier BIC and Bpifrance select participating companies in collaboration with Méliès (local business angel network), Irdi Capital Investissement and Sofilaro (regional investment funds), WeSprint (business accelerator), Digital 113 (digital sector cluster), and the Hérault Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI).

After they are selected, entrepreneurs are coached by Montpellier BIC and Bpifrance to prepare a convincing business case. They present their company to investors on the day of the event in order to obtain individual meetings. The goal of Montpellier Capital Risque is to help accelerate their fundraising.

The concept is very appealing. About sixty investors - including business angels, private equity and venture capital funds - are present at each edition of the event. This time, they will be joined by 1,200 startups and scale-ups, 120 speakers and international investors, and 200 key accounts, with around fifty plenary sessions and twenty round tables.

“B2B Rocks will also enable us to access major international investors,” emphasizes Isabelle Prévot. “Our plan is for the two events to take place at the same time, shining a spotlight on the innovation ecosystem in the greater Montpellier area and Occitanie region,” says Colin Lalouette, CEO of Appvizer and president of the B2B Rocks association.

Registration is already open. Clearly, you should get started early if you want to participate.
