Organized at the regional level by PEPITE-LR (Student Cluster for Innovation, Transfer, and Entrepreneurship in Languedoc-Roussillon), and sponsored by Bpifrance, Occitanie Pyrénées-Méditerranée Region, Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole, along with universities and higher schools in eastern Occitanie, this award recognizes involvement by young entrepreneurs and supports creativity and an enterprising spirit for students and recent graduates.*

The five regional laureates of this year’s Pépite award are:
  • Camille Monjo for Via-Transit, an application that informs travelers about eco-friendly mobility options. The startup is incubated at Montpellier BIC.
  • Fanny Sterna for Halt O’plast, an innovative system for collecting microplastic pollution.
  • Bastien Rebattet for Dolores, his sustainable home automation project.
  • Caroline Vallerey for Green e-Gestion, an invoice management solution for VSEs.
  • And the regional champion: Manon Pagnucco-Constantin for Pimp'Up, which revitalizes imperfect vegetables in direct-to-consumer circuits.
The national Pépite 2021 award ceremony was held on October 7 in Paris, during the #BIG event organized by Bpifrance and featuring the presence of Frédérique Vidal, the French Minister of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation. This year, 32 winners (including Pimp’Up, which is now launching a crowdfunding campaign) received the Pépite 2021 Award accompanied by 10,000 € in financial support.

“These entrepreneurs remain optimistic, despite today’s challenging business environment. They have shown us, as if further proof was needed, just how strong their desire to become entrepreneurs is,” exclaims Frédérique Vidal.
