“Arty” weekend at the Corum

Information updated on 20/06/18

The 5th edition of Ob’Art will be held at the Montpellier Corum from April 6 to 8. This prestigious craft fair organized by Ateliers d’Art de France brings together about 100 creative art professionals, two-thirds of whom are from the Occitanie region. The event is also a place for sharing excellence and expertise.

For its 5th edition, the Ob’Art craft fair at the Corum conference center will feature unique works and original collections by about 100 creative arts professionals. Selected artists will represent some thirty different craft trades, including marquetry, art glassware, jewelry, ceramics, gold leaf gilding, and textile creation.
“The professionals present at Ob’Art step out of their studios exceptionally to meet the public, and to present and sell the works they create and craft in their workshops. Our mission is to help build the sector, raise awareness, and develop the workshop economy,” explains Aude Tahon, textile creator and president of Ateliers d’Art de France, organizer of craft fairs dedicated to art professions.
The professional art association, which has its own showcase at the Nef building on Rue de l’Université in Montpellier, organizes the Ob’Art fair. Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole and the City of Montpellier are both partners of the event. Featuring many demonstrations, the fair is a privileged place for exchanges between the public and creators.
“The Georges Guynemer high school in Uzès offers five training programs in art professions and is exhibiting at the fair,” adds Aude Tahon. “It is the perfect occasion to promote awareness about our art professions to the young generation.” The public also includes many professionals, interior designers, decoration stores, and luxury hotels, as well as major restaurants looking for table arts ideas. It is worth noting that Montpellier Méditerranée Métropole recently applied for the “City and the Applied Arts” label.
