Entrepreneurs, chercheur, doctorants, laboratoires, le Deep tech Tour arrive à Montpellier ! @bpi france

Entrepreneurs, researchers, PhDs, laboratories... get ready, DeepTech Tour is coming to Montpellier! @bpifrance

As a continuation of its “DeepTech Plan” launched in early 2019, Bpifrance is heading out to meet researchers, PhDs, and entrepreneurs in order to build bridges between the research and entrepreneurial worlds. This campus tour includes a stage in Montpellier on January 9, 2020.

The ideal time to discover the entire ecosystem supporting disruptive innovation: Local universities, Bpifrance, Montpellier BIC, AxLR, French Tech, Ad’Occ, and more, now rounded out with new funding mechanisms and laws to help researchers take steps towards business. Entrepreneurs will speak about the bridges that exist between the academic world and that of startups.

Major innovations are driven in Montpellier by many researchers, PhD students, and engineers who may be in a position to found, co-found, or assist a startup.  But the hard part is knowing where to start, who to turn to... DeepTech Tour is the place to go!
“Encouraging DeepTech is a way to innovate and overturn tomorrow’s world, creating technological disruptions by leveraging the latest scientific progress. With world-class research, strong entrepreneurial vitality, and a well-organized and efficient investment ecosystem, France has all the assets it needs to become a “DeepTech nation.” Networking these different players is one of the keys for success. That is what is at stake for this DeepTech Tour,” highlights Nicolas Dufourcq, General Director of Bpifrance.
This is an event not to be missed for finding out everything you need to know about DeepTech companies!

About the DeepTech Plan

This tour is part of the DeepTech Plan implemented by Bpifrance since January 2019, whose goal is to double within the next five years the number of startups with a strong technological component derived from academic research.

The DeepTech Plan reinforces assistance for DeepTech project leaders, and mobilizes the necessary funding and investment instruments, notably within the context of France’s Investments for the Future Program. Over 200 DeepTech startups have benefited from ad-hoc funding since January 2019 via dedicated tools, such as French Tech Emergence Grants, DeepTech development aid, i-Lab competition, and more.
