RBC heading to conquer Paris

Information updated on 20/06/18

RBC opened a new showroom in Paris in January 2018. A masterstroke for Franck Argentin, founder of the RBC group and director of the Jean Nouvel Design Studio, for the brand’s 30th anniversary.

Design furniture aficionados now have a new place to go in Paris.
In January, RCB opened a new showroom at 40 rue Violet in the XVth arrondissement in Paris. The prestigious address had been home to the furniture manufacturer Vitra since the 1980s. Designed at the time by Antonio Citterio, the space was completely reworked by Jean Nouvel, who reused many of the codes of the iconic RCB building in Montpellier.
A masterstroke for Franck Argentin, founder of the RBC group and director of the Jean Nouvel Design Studio, to mark the southern French group’s 30 years in business. Since the first showroom designed by Philippe Starck opened in 1987, each new location has been signed by a major name in design or architecture. In Paris today, just like in Montpellier in 2012, the architecture plays a subtle role to serve as a showcase for furniture collections.
With its three levels, RCB Paris presents a home-oriented selection featuring furniture, kitchens, and lighting arranged in a space that has been redesigned as a loft. Downstairs, a 160 m² space is dedicated to an office-oriented selection for service companies and professionals. A materials library is available for architects and prescribers to help them with the details of their projects, covering everything from reception furnishings to meeting rooms, informal and relaxing areas, and restaurant dining rooms.
Beneath a beautiful glass roof, a large area upstairs will welcome temporary exhibitions. From March 15 to May 4, LAB is presenting an exhibition entitled “La Luce,” dedicated to creations by Le Corbusier and Charlotte Perriand, in collaboration with the Italian lighting specialist Nemo. This space will be used to present the latest creations by international designers and architects in Paris throughout the year to promote design culture.
